I’m testing out a fundraising idea for a kids group. There is a big trend for “Blind Dates with a Book” mainly focused on fiction which are upcycled lightly used books wrapped in paper and accented with stickers, pens, tea bags, etc. I visited local Friends of the Library shops and collected several bags of books. I watched YouTube video on how to wrap the books so they have a pocket. The fundraiser is for kids and adults, so I inserted some decorated paper – white for elementary, black for high school – and left the adult books just kraft paper. Then I added fun bookmarks and stickers that coordinate with the clues for the book.

UPDATE: We sold 30 books, nearly all of our stock! The kids had a great time shopping and some even acted as booksellers helping adults find books that fit their tastes.
