One of my intentions for 2025 is to read the daily passage in this book, Native Wisdom for the White Mind, by Anne Wilson Schaef.
I’ve had this book in my to-be-read pile but never got around to reading all of it. I would grab it every once and awhile to read a specific day, but didn’t feel like the daily doses worked for a straight read through.
It’s been five days and I feel like this will be an easy yearly intention to keep going throughout the year. After morning yoga stretching I can sit, breath and ingest these new concepts. So far, I haven’t read anything too paradigm shifting but it is early and maybe the author is starting with easy to digest concepts first. I do like the diversity of the native wisdom that is represented: Maori, Tibetan, Mohican, Irish. I’m interested to see what other cultures are represented.
We shall see if I can keep up with it on a daily basis. Or at least catch up easily if I skip a few days. Progress is always better than perfection! When setting goals or intentions like this, I like to have backup plans for when life inevitably occurs. Catching up on reading is one of the easy back up plans.
